Jibola Dabo was born on August 12th, 1942, into a low-income household in Lagos State, Nigeria. He is a native of “Owo” in the western Nigerian state of Ondo.

His primary and secondary studies were completed in Lagos State, Nigeria, where he also earned his first and second high school diplomas.

After completing his education in primary and secondary schools he continued on to the University of Lagos, where he received his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree.

Jibola Dabo continued his education at Columbia State University in the USA, where he earned a Master’s degree in mass communication

He began performing when he was in primary school and took on the part of Samson in a stage play. Then, in Owo, Ondo State, Nigeria, he assumed the role of the chief priest of his town.

Jibola Dabo began acting in movies in the Nigerian “Nollywood” sector in 2006, and he is still going strong.

Jibola Dabo is the recipient of numerous honors, including Best Actor of the Year at the City People Entertainment Awards, Best Actor in a Leading Role at the Africa Movie Academy Award, Most Prominent Actor in Nigeria at the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards, Best Actor in Nigeria at the Golden Icon Movie Academy Awards, and Best Actor of the Year at the Zuma Film Festival.

He is well-known for frequently portraying affluent, powerful characters in movies, such as kings and chiefs. His trademark white beards are a testament to his acting prowess, creativity, technique, and talent

In addition to Bloody Carnival, My Fantasy, Broken Mirror, My Game, High Blood Pressure, Changing Faces, Kingdom of Darkness, Break Away, Game Changer, and Dirty Secrets, Jibola Dabo has appeared in over 150 Nollywood films.

Nollywood actress Binta Ayo Mogaji and Jibola Dabo have a child together as a result of their relationship. Additionally, he is said to have fathered five or so kids with various women. His children are mature, married people with families of their own. He has six grandchildren as well.

When Dabo was six years old, he began acting in school plays and stage productions. However, it wasn’t until 2006 that he made his formal Nollywood debut.
