Folarin Falana (born October 27, 1990), better known by his stage name Falz, is a Nigerian rapper, singer, songwriter, media personality, filmmaker, and actor.
Before his professional career as a music artist began in 2009, the Nigerian star began his calling in secondary school, when he formed a group called “The School Boys” with a friend. Falz rose to prominence after releasing the song “Marry Me,” which featured Ladipoe and Yemi Alade on vocals.
He currently runs his own independent record label, Bahd Guys Records. In 2014, he released his debut album, Wazup Guy. Stories That Touch, his second album, was released in 2015.
He released 27 in 2017 and Moral Instruction, his fourth studio album, in 2019.

Falz was born on October 27, 1990, in the Lagos State local government area of Mushin. He has a sister named Fola Falana.
Funmi and Femi Falana, lawyers and human rights activists, are his famous parents. After graduating from the Nigeria Law School in Abuja, he was admitted to the bar in 2012.
Falz finished primary and secondary school at St. Leo’s Catholic Primary School in Ikeja and Olashore International School in Osun State. He graduated from the University of Reading in England with an LLB honors degree in law.

Falz began singing as a hobby in secondary school. He and a friend formed “The School Boys,” a music group. In 2009, he released Shakara: The Mixtape, a collection of some of his recordings.
Falz debuted in the Nigerian music industry with the single “WazUp Guy” in 2011, followed by “High Class” and “Currency.”
Falz was named one of tooXclusive’s “Artists to Watch in 2014” on January 2, 2014. Falz’s debut studio album, Wazup Guy, was released on May 30, 2014. The album featured productions from Studio Magic, DJ Woske, Tin Tin, and Spellz, among others.

In 2016, Falz won “Best Actor in a Comedy Movie/Series” at the 2016 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards for his role as Segun in Funke Akindele‘s TV series Jenifa’s Diary. In June 2016, Falz was voted the winner of the “Viewer’s Choice Best New International Act” category at the 2016 BET Awards.
