Segun Ogungbe (born 28 March 1970) is a 52-year-old Nollywood (Yoruba) actor, producer, and director who has worked on several films.
Segun Ogungbe Early Life and Education
Segun Ogungbe was born in the ancient city of Ibadan in 1970. His father, Pa Ogungbe, was a tailor who sewn Hannah Awolowo’s (Obafemi Awolowo’s wife) clothes in the 1950s.
He is the nephew of late Nollywood actor and director Akin Ogungbe, who died in November 2012. His uncle was said to have had 20 wives and 50 children.
Segun Ogungbe was born in Ibadan but grew up in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
In Ibadan, Oyo State, he earned his First School Leaving Certificate and West African School Certificate.
Segun Ogungbe Career
Segun Ogungbe made his film debut at the tender age of three. He discovered his passion for acting as he grew older and decided to pursue it full-time.
Segun Ogungbe Films, his own production company, was founded in 1996.
He shot to fame after producing the film Ibi Giga, in which he played the lead role.
He has since produced films such as Agartha, Baba Arugbo, Ologbo Iya Ijebu, and Ila Owo, among others.
He was the recipient of the City People Movie Special Recognition Award.
He was nominated for Best Movie Of The Year at the City People Entertainment Awards in 2018.
